MULTIDISCIPLINARY CULTURAL INITIATIVE: AN IMMERSIVE ART, SCIENCE AND SUSTAINABILITY EXPERIENCE
ROLE. CREATOR, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR & EXHIBITION DESIGNER
Tecendo Entre Mares - TeMar is a multidisciplinary cultural project that establishes a dialogue between textile art, marine science, and environmental sustainability. The project was conceived out of the need to address urgent issues such as coral bleaching and the environmental impacts of the fashion industry creatively and educationally, encouraging the public to reflect on the relationship between humans and the natural environment, with a particular focus on the city of Rio de Janeiro and its coastline.
The initiative offers an immersive experience that integrates diverse languages and methodologies, including an interactive exhibition, textile upcycling workshops, discussion circles, audiovisual content production, and the creation of a digital archive. Through these activities, the project seeks to raise awareness among different audiences about contemporary environmental challenges, while also promoting social inclusion and income generation for young people from marginalised communities, reinforcing socio-environmental and educational values.
Work in Progress: The project is scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro in 2027, with ongoing connections and collaborations with Barcelona and Berlin.

Collaboration with anthropologists, ethnologists and art historians ensures accurate cultural representation while providing visitors with comprehensive understanding of indigenous contributions to Brazilian society and global culture.
The project addresses gaps in cultural education while creating space for indigenous voices within institutional settings. This approach supports cultural preservation through documentation and public engagement.

A HEAD OF TIME
ART EXHIBITION
ROLE. CREATOR, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, CURATOR & EXHIBITION DESIGNER
This exhibition presents the photographic series A Head of Time by Christian Gaul, documenting the zungueiras—women who walk the streets of Accra, Ghana,
carrying baskets on their heads and operating within the city's informal economy. These women function as entrepreneurs who support their families and create trade networks that sustain communities.
The exhibition examines informal trade systems in urban Africa, presenting the zungueiras' work as economic infrastructure rather than marginal activity. Gaul's photographs reveal the systems and relationships that underpin Accra's street commerce.

The title A Head of Time references the practice of head-carrying while addressing how these women navigate between traditional methods and urban realities. Their routes through the city become documentation of economic movement and social structure.
The gallery layout follows the pathways these women take through Accra, allowing visitors to trace their routes while understanding the scope of their economic impact.
