PROFILE

hello@dani.studio

As the co-founder of IntoHaus, a creative and cultural agency, I am an exhibition and cultural projects director working internationally between Europe and Brazil. My practice is dedicated to developing and delivering multidisciplinary projects across contemporary art, exhibition-making, performance, and the moving image.

With over two decades of experience, my career began in film and advertising as a Production Designer for major agencies like Publicis, Ogilvy, and McCann. Leading large creative and technical teams on campaigns for brands such as Microsoft, Nivea, and Canon, I honed my skills in aesthetic direction, strategic planning, and complex logistics. This background now informs my approach to directing cultural projects, bridging the gap between a creative vision and its physical execution.

Today, I channel this experience into collaborating with a diverse range of partners, including artists, institutions, cultural organisations, and brands seeking to engage with culture. My work encompasses the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual strategy and artistic direction to hands-on production, team coordination, and spatial strategy. In 2023, I expanded my practice by founding Into.Gallery, a contemporary art platform that develops exhibitions in flexible and itinerant formats, continuing my commitment to bringing art to new and diverse audiences.

Production Design for Film and Advertising

Authored a professional publication examining production design within film and advertising, structured around the full creative, technical and operational lifecycle of a project. The book traces the historical development of art direction and the professionalisation of the production designer role, and analyses the translation of scripts into visual concepts. It addresses collaborative processes across departments, strategic partnerships with directors and cinematographers, location and studio decision-making, colour strategy, project presentation, on-set execution, post-production workflows, and professional responsibilities relating to ethics and safety. The publication draws on over two decades of international professional practice and is currently being revised and formatted.

A-Mar: Arte que Regenera

Multidisciplinary cultural initiative - an immersive art, science and sustainability experience.

Artwork and photos - Paola Idrontino

Role — Project Conception, Coordination & Artistic Direction

Work in Progress — The project is scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro in 2027, with ongoing connections with Barcelona and Berlin.
A-Mar: Arte que Regenera is a multidisciplinary cultural initiative that fosters a dialogue between textile art, marine science, and sustainability. Conceived to address pressing issues such as coral bleaching and the environmental impact of the fashion industry, the project encourages reflection on the relationship between humanity and the natural world, with a particular focus on Rio de Janeiro’s coastline.

The initiative offers an immersive experience comprising interactive exhibitions, textile upcycling workshops, panel discussions, and audiovisual content. Through these activities, A-Mar seeks to heighten public awareness of contemporary environmental challenges while championing social inclusion and economic empowerment for young people from marginalised communities.

Brasilien in Berlin

Festival

Role — Project Conception, Coordination & Artistic Direction

Grant — €312,000 (Lei Rouanet, Brazil)
Brasilien in Berlin is a vibrant 48-hour festival designed to weave together Brazilian and German cultural identities. The event offers a curated circuit of art, gastronomy, cinema, live music, and late-night sets, providing a deep cultural immersion for Berliners and the Brazilian diaspora alike within the German capital.

By positioning Brazilian culture as both contemporary and dynamic, the festival showcases the breadth of current artistic production, featuring a mix of established figures and emerging talents. Its intensive format invites participants to engage with the Brazilian spirit through a simultaneous programme of exhibitions, film screenings, and culinary experiences. Reflecting its institutional significance, the project was supported by a €312,000 grant from Brazil’s Lei Rouanet, a key federal funding mechanism for major cultural initiatives.

Indigenous of Brazil

Group exhibition & symposium

Photo - Renato Soares

Role — Project Conception, Coordination & Artistic Direction
The Indigenous of Brazil project offers a profound immersion into the cultures of Brazil’s Indigenous peoples, serving as a vital platform for cultural preservation and intercultural dialogue. By integrating exhibitions, lectures, and workshops with specialists in anthropology, ethnology, and the arts, the initiative brings to the fore civilisations that are frequently underrepresented in mainstream discourse.

The programme features visual showcases of Indigenous art and artefacts, alongside academic symposiums and hands-on workshops that explore both ancestral traditions and contemporary practices. By framing Indigenous culture as living heritage, the project highlights its enduring continuity and dynamic evolution. Close collaboration with specialists ensures a nuanced representation, celebrating Indigenous contributions to global heritage while actively amplifying Indigenous voices within institutional and public spaces.

Role — Set designer

Head of Time

Art Exhibition

Photos - Christian Gaul

Role — Exhibition designer
This exhibition presents A Head of Time, a compelling photographic series by Christian Gaul documenting the zungueiras—the resilient women who underpin Accra’s informal economy by carrying goods upon their heads. Operating as independent entrepreneurs, these women sustain their families and weave the intricate trade networks that serve as the lifeblood of their communities.

Gaul’s photography interrogates these informal systems, reframing the zungueiras’ labour as essential economic infrastructure rather than marginal activity. The exhibition’s spatial design mirrors their routes through Accra, inviting visitors to trace their journeys and grasp the magnitude of their social and economic impact. The title, A Head of Time, serves as a dual reference: acknowledging the physical mastery of head-carrying while suggesting how these women navigate the tension between ancestral tradition and the pulse of modern urban life.

Rube Goldberg Machine

Commercial

Role — Production designer & Set designer
For a Benegrip advertising campaign, I designed a bespoke Rube Goldberg machine to provide a captivating visual metaphor for the medicine’s journey through the body. This intricate device employed a complex chain reaction to perform a simple task, elegantly illustrating the product’s efficacy from the moment of ingestion to the point of symptom relief.

The project demanded meticulous mechanical planning to ensure each component triggered the next with absolute precision for the camera. The machine’s aesthetic struck a balance between raw mechanical function and refined brand messaging, utilising a palette of colours and materials that integrated seamlessly with Benegrip’s visual identity. I collaborated closely with prop builders and the film crew to ensure the device operated with unwavering reliability across multiple takes, meeting the rigorous demands of a high-stakes production environment.

Tin Man

Short film

Role — Production designer
Tim Man is a project that explores the nuances of emotional disconnection through a poignant visual narrative. It centres on a father who has become profoundly estranged from his family, personified as a man 'without a heart'. To embody his coldness and psychological detachment, the protagonist was crafted from rigid mechanical elements. In stark contrast, the surrounding environment was rendered in warm, organic tones and tactile textures. This deliberate juxtaposition amplifies the character’s isolation, highlighting the story’s central theme of fractured domestic intimacy.

Heinz Masterbrand 1 & 2

Commercial

Director - Pablo Fusco (Argentina)

Agency - Africa (BR)

Role — Production designer
I was invited by director Pablo Fusco to lead the production design for Heinz’s ‘Masterbrand’ campaign. Over an intensive month-long period, I developed 15 distinct sets, each crafted to showcase Heinz products across diverse contexts while ensuring a seamless and iconic brand identity.

Beyond the primary set design, I conceived and executed 12 packshots, taking full ownership of their visual composition and overseeing the food stylist’s work to ensure peak aesthetic appeal. The project required high-level collaboration with the director and the orchestration of multiple production teams to meet exacting creative and technical standards. Reflecting its impact, the campaign was subsequently nominated for Best Ad Campaign at the 37th Rede Globo Advertising Award, one of Brazil’s most prestigious industry honours.

Microsoft

Commercial

Director - Scott Vincent (USA)

Film company - Hungry Man

Role — Production designer & Set designer
As the production and set designer for a Microsoft commercial, I collaborated with director Scott Vincent (Hungry Man) to bring a warm and relatable human story to life. The narrative follows a young father who, after an accidental fall makes his crying baby laugh, devises an ingenious plan to edit a humorous video to soothe the child.

To create the ideal domestic setting, we implemented bespoke modifications to a real house, incorporating movable walls that allowed us to adapt the layout for each scene and optimise camera angles. My role was to curate a space that felt authentic and lived-in, whilst subtly supporting the story’s progression from domestic chaos to creative resolution—culminating in the moment Microsoft technology emerges as the catalyst for the solution.

Subdivisions

Underground party

Role — Project conception & Set designer
Art installation
6 × 3 m
50 modular panels in matte PS

For Subdivisions, an underground electronic music series in São Paulo, I designed a modular visual installation inspired by the event’s nomadic spirit. Held in secret, industrial, and alternative locations, the party is renowned for bridging national and international electronic music scenes.

The installation consists of a 6x3-metre array of lightweight, cost-effective PS panels, engineered for rapid reconfiguration to suit any venue. This adaptable structure serves as a dynamic canvas for bespoke projection mapping, translating light and movement into an immersive, ever-evolving sensory experience that pulses in sync with the audience and the music.
